Electric vehicles (EV) powered by high-voltage batteries incorporate an associated on-board charging system. This on-board charger (OBC) provides the means to re-charge the battery from the AC mains either at home or from outlets to be increasingly found in private or public charging stations. These home charging points or wall boxes, as well as charging totems for public places all require specialist magnetics to enable them to charge the EV’s system.

EEMPL offer all the magnetics needed for these charging points. They can also configure these into easy to integrate, designed for production modules enabling robotic production. They are already working with many major automotive manufacturers regarding OBC requirements and are now offering parts for the chargers also.

EEMPL’s offering includes the following modular components for wallbox and totem charging systems, such as PFC (power factor correction) modules, both single and 3 phase, LLC inductors, resonant inductors, inrush limiters and common mode chokes.

This is along with an array of transformers and inductors specifically designed for automotive applications. These are all built in their fully compliant IATF16949 certified factory, utilising EEMPL’s optimised performance by the inclusion of technologies such as vacuum thermal compound encapsulation. Their in-house test lab covers all AEC-Q200 requirements.

The majority of these modules are custom designed to meet customer application and the factory has a team of 50 experienced R&D engineers ready to support your requirements; please contact us now to discuss how we can assist you on your design.
