Luso Microwave, an operating division of Luso Electronics that manufactures and installs microwave systems and components for commercial and military satellite markets, announces the launch of competitively-priced Ku-Band Feeds designed for SNG (satellite news gathering) applications.
The WG17 Feeds operate with linear orthogonal polarisation over a transmit (Tx) frequency range of 13.75 – 14.50GHz and a receive (Rx) range of 10.70 – 12.75GHz. Minimum Tx/Rx isolation is specified as 40dB in the Tx band and 35dB in the Rx band without Tx reject filter.
Andy Trusler, Microwave Division Manager at Luso Electronics, commented: “Many customers have told us that they are looking for competitively-priced Ku-Band Feeds from a supplier that they can trust and rely on. Luso knew it could fulfil this demand and exceed their expectations.â€
Luso also introduces an extended Ku-Band Diplexer. Used to combine the downlink and uplink bands to allow simultaneous transmit and receive operations, the Diplexer will retrofit onto existing antennas to extend narrow band systems and avoids the expense of purchasing a complete antenna system.
Additionally, Luso has launched: a cost-effective, lightweight and compact 1.2m Segmented Antenna in Ku-Band aimed at SNG use; a VSAT Antenna Drive System to control the company’s range of antennae; and a Waveguide Switch Controller that can operate up to 11 amplifiers and 11 up-converters using up to 100 switches. Designed for system integrators and broadcasters, the Waveguide Switch Controller can be configured as many times as users require.
Luso’s new KU-Band Feed and Diplexer will be shown for the first time at IBC 2015, Hall 1, Stand F-11, 11th – 15th September at the RAI Amsterdam.
