AI and Data Centre demands prompt increase in lead-times

In 2026, heavy demand from AI computing, high-density data centres, and new energy industrial control systems continues to put pressure on production capacity, causing ongoing fluctuations in lead times and pricing for passive and magnetic components.

Market reports indicate that this higher demand could extend lead times by around 6 to 9 weeks and increase prices by approximately 15%. Several major suppliers also recommend dual sourcing key products to help reduce supply risk.

One key component used in many Gigabit Ethernet designs is the HX5084NLT industrial-grade network transformer, for which Pulse Electronics has reported a recent sharp rise in enquiries.

Our franchise partner Elec&Eltek (EEMPL) offer many direct alternatives to leading manufacturer magnetic products. For the HX5084NLT their offering is the 824-00550F.

If you need to source alternate magnetics for your designs to help support on lead times and price pressure, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
